Founder — Los Angeles, California

I built the
product I
kept looking for.

Jaziel, founder of Rune, in his Los Angeles barbershop

My name is Jaziel. I'm a barber in Los Angeles, and Rune started behind my chair.

I've spent years cutting hair for clients who show up on camera, on stage and on set — people whose look has to hold for fourteen hours, under lights, through a full day of being looked at. That's a hard job for a product. Most of the things on the shelf couldn't do it.

Everything I tried made a trade. Strong hold meant a greasy shine. A natural finish meant it fell out by lunch. Something that looked right in the shop turned into flakes and buildup by the end of the week. I got tired of apologising for products I didn't make.

So I started over with one bottle: a sea salt spray. Real grit and volume from pharmaceutical-grade magnesium sulfate, a light hold that stays soft, first-press coconut oil and golden jojoba so the salt never dries hair out. Then I handed it to the barbers I trust and made them tell me the truth until there was nothing left to fix.

Rune is what came out of that. It's not a brand that hired a barber — it's a barber who built a brand. Every formula gets tested in a real shop, on real heads, before it gets a label.

Your style. Your Rune.
